December 10, 2007

Walked on the beach.

Saw Spanish lady three times today. Couple on the street from NY.  A German dealer and Holland dealer one wearing a cowboy hat he bought for a dollar at the hotel and one from Boston in front of Pool Fair. I figured I had nothing to lose but my obscurity in the vast art world.  The potential was I could sell more pieces than any artist at the show by passing out my cards and hoping the recipient would some day look at the website and simply call the gallery and buy a piece.   So far three have sold.  You guys know that I live a charmed life and that is possible.

In front of my hotel I met Anita Beckers who’s Frankfurt gallery was at Pulse.

She mentioned something about how it was wrong for everyone to focus on the very young artists straight out of school. I mentioned that it was looking like the Loop gallery in Berlin would add me.  She said they were a newer gallery (3-5 years) and about Charles.  She had hurt her leg and couldn’t walk much. A beautiful blond leaned across me to check on her healing. After she left Anita said that the blond was a big Art Advisor from New York. We swapped restaurant suggestions.  Of course mine was Grillfish for a whole Pompano. Met an artist from San Antonio I don’t remember which show he was at.
